Blefaroplastyka powiek to najskuteczniejsza metoda na przywrócenie oczom młodego, wypoczętego wyglądu lub likwidację ptozy (opadanie powiek) uwarunkowanej czynnikami zdrowotnymi. Efekty zabiegu są długotrwałe – utrzymują się nawet około 15 lat.
Powieki utrzymywane są na właściwych im pozycjach dzięki pracy niewielkich, ale sprawnych mięśni szpary powiekowej i nerwów okolicy oka. Choć opadanie powiek to zawsze problem estetyczny, przyczyny pojawienia się tej nieprawidłowości mogą być różne:

  • upływ czasu – skóra powiek jest bardzo cienka i delikatna, dlatego szybko ulega procesom starzenia;
  • wady wrodzone albo schorzenia czy dysfunkcje dotyczące unerwienia lub mięśni powiek, np. porażenie, uraz.

Na czym polega blefaroplastyka powiek?

Celem blefaroplastyki jest przywrócenie szparze pomiędzy powiekami odpowiednio dużej szerokości poprzez uniesienie opadającej powieki górnej. Modelowanie może także dotyczyć powieki dolnej.
Przywracanie szerokiego spojrzenia na świat może być zabiegiem inwazyjnym – wtedy powieki modelowane są z wykorzystaniem skalpela chirurga lub energii wiązki laserowej. Może też być procedurą nieinwazyjną – gdy powieki poddawane są działaniu plazmy azotowej.
