Zabieg RF jest połączeniem dwóch rodzajów uszkodzeń w skórze właściwej – nakłuwania mikroigłowego za pomocą 49 igieł oraz termicznego, wywołanego prądem o częstotliwości fali radiowej. W radiofrekwencji mikroigłowej, dzięki obecności mikroigieł, które przewodzą ciepło w głąb skóry, każda warstwa skóry poddana zabiegowi jest równomiernie nagrzewana. Jest to jedna z wiodących metod odmładzania i poprawy struktury skóry w medycynie estetycznej.

Tuż po zabiegu następuje obkurczanie się włókien kolagenowych, przez co skóra staje się bardziej napięta. Najważniejsze dzieje się jednak przez kilka kolejnych tygodni (do 3 miesięcy) po zabiegu.
